Charles
for COMMISSIONER

Charles is a TRUE public servant fighting for a stronger, more vibrant, more affordable Cherokee County.
VOTE AUGUST 26

Who I Am
Electrician. Father. Husband.
And a proud union man.
The working people of Cherokee deserve a fair shake and authentic representation on the County Commission.
There's no reason we can't have world-class infrastructure, lower taxes on residents, and higher pay for our first responders and county employees. That is how we will ensure the highest level of public services and quality of living in the state of Georgia. We deserve it.
We don't need another business-as-usual "suit" or urban planning technocrat on the Commission. We need innovative thinking and bold action.
What I'm Fighting For
Lowering taxes on residents. This can be paid for with three actions:
-
Introduce a tax on all these storage units popping up on seemingly every corner. They take up valuable land, employ virtually zero people, and don't contribute to the local economy.
-
Introduce a tax on corporate-owned single-family homes. Corporations are decimating our housing inventory and engaging in price-fixing. This has killed middle-class mobility, and young people can't get started. Corporate greed is destroying the American Dream—enough is enough.
-
Increase the hotel tax. Locals aren't staying in hotels here. As Cherokee County doesn't rely on tourism, this tax will have zero impact on the local economy while simultaneously generating more tax revenue.
Implementing conservative zoning. We're going to protect rural Cherokee while bringing down home prices. People chose to live in north Cherokee for a reason—let's honor that. This means no expansion of transitional corridors and no zoning or variance approval for developers seeking to build homes over 2,200 square feet. Zoning is our best tool for driving down home prices and containing sprawl.
Increasing pay for Cherokee heroes. Our first responders and county employees should be the best paid in the state—to attract the best talent in the state. We shouldn't be losing our brightest, most committed employees to other metro counties. We should be focused on building wealth for Cherokee's middle class.
Ensuring fiscal responsibility & transparency. I have been the IBEW 613 Treasurer for 5 years, regularly managing multimillion dollar accounts and ensuring each cent is accounted for. If elected, I will handle each taxpayer dollar with the same care to ensure funds are spent wisely. Your trust is not a responsibility I take lightly.
